Inverter error or a red light
An error code or a red or orange light means the inverter has stopped converting power, or is limiting itself to protect the system. Some faults clear with a reset; others are a failed component or a wiring problem on the roof. We read the fault, test the system, and repair or replace the inverter, including warranty replacement where the part is still covered.
Production dropped
A system that makes noticeably less than it used to, with no change in the weather, usually has one of a few causes: a failed inverter or optimizer, a tripped breaker, a string that has gone offline, heavy soiling, or new shade from a tree. We compare what it should produce with what it does, then find which part of the system stopped contributing.
The app or monitoring is dark
When the monitoring app stops updating, the panels are often still producing and the problem is the connection: a changed Wi-Fi password, a new router, or a communication gateway that lost power. Sometimes it is the first sign of an inverter fault. We get monitoring reporting again and confirm the system behind it is healthy.
The breaker keeps tripping
A solar breaker that trips again after it is reset is telling you something is wrong: a ground fault, a damaged wire, water in a connection, or a failing inverter. It is not something to keep resetting. We find the cause and fix it, and make the system safe to run again.
Solar panel repair
A cracked panel, a burn mark or hot spot on the glass, or one panel that produces far less than its neighbors needs repair or replacement. We test the panel and its connections, replace it where it has failed, and match the replacement to the rest of the array so the system performs as one.
Storm or hail damage
Hail, high wind and falling branches can crack panels, loosen mounts and damage wiring even when the damage is hard to see from the ground. We inspect the array and repair or replace what was damaged.
Animals under the array
Pigeons and other animals nest in the gap between the panels and the roof, where they chew wiring and leave debris that holds water. We clear the nest and the debris, check the wiring for damage, and install pigeon and critter guards so they do not come back.
Panels are dirty or shaded
Dust, pollen, bird droppings and ash build up on panels, especially in dry climates, and cut production. New shade from a tree or a neighbor’s addition does the same. We clean the panels without damaging them or the roof, and tell you if shade is the bigger problem.
The roof needs work
If the roof under your solar needs repair or replacement, the panels have to come off first and go back on after. We remove the system, coordinate with the roofing work, and reinstall and test it, so the roof is done properly and the system works when it goes back up.

Removal and reinstall
Detach and reset for a new roof
We take the system off while the roof is repaired or replaced, then reinstall and test it. We coordinate the timing with the roofing work, including through our roofing partners.
Full system removal
Taking a system out for good, for a sale, a remodel or a system that has reached the end of its life. We remove it, make the electrical safe, and seal the roof where it was mounted.

How much does solar repair cost?
Every repair starts with a $325 diagnostic visit: onsite troubleshooting and diagnostics, including one hour of labor. If more work is needed, we can provide our findings and a price before it starts.
Do you service systems you did not install?
Yes. We service systems installed by other companies along with our own fleet, including SolarEdge, Enphase, SMA, Tesla, Lion Energy and Fortress Power equipment.
How fast can you come out?
We respond within 24 hours to schedule your visit, in every state we serve, and book it at a time that suits you.
What if my panels are still under warranty?
Tell us the brand and when the system was installed. If a failed part is still covered by the manufacturer, we handle the warranty replacement, whether or not we installed the system.
Do you work with my utility?
Yes. When a repair needs the utility, such as meter work or putting the system back into service, we coordinate it for you.
Who does the work?
Licensed contractors. Our own licensed technicians do the work in the states where we hold contractor licenses, and licensed subcontractors we manage do it elsewhere.
