Your system does not have to be.

We respond within24 hoursto schedule

We service systems other companies installed, including systems whose installer no longer exists.

What usually still stands, and what usually does not

When an installer closes, some protections go with it and some never belonged to it. This is the usual picture, not a ruling on your system. We check yours.

  • Panel manufacturer warrantyUsually still validIt comes from the panel maker, not the installer, so it usually survives as long as the manufacturer does.
  • Inverter manufacturer warrantyUsually still validAlso from the manufacturer. Some require the system to be registered, which we can check.
  • Battery manufacturer warrantyUsually still validFrom the battery maker, usually with registration and monitoring conditions.
  • Installer workmanship warrantyUsually goneGiven by the installing company, so it usually ends when the company does.
  • Roof penetration or leak warrantyUsually goneUsually part of the installer’s own warranty.
  • Production guaranteeIt dependsDepends on who gave it: an installer’s usually ends with it; a finance company’s may continue.
  • Monitoring accessIt dependsThe system usually still reports; the account may have been the installer’s. We help you get your own.
  • Lease or PPA payments and obligationsUsually still validThey sit with the finance company, not the installer, so they usually continue.
Find out what your system still has

How a takeover works

Tell us about the system

Who installed it, when, and what equipment it has, if you know. We respond within 24 hours to schedule.

We look at its records first

Equipment, warranties and monitoring where we can see them, before anyone climbs on your roof.

An on site inspection

A licensed technician inspects and diagnoses the system: $475, including an hour of labor.

Findings, a price, and a plan

We can provide our findings and a price before any work starts, and ongoing service if you want it.

Rooftop solar panels

Getting your monitoring back

Many homeowners lose sight of their system when the installer's account goes quiet. The system usually keeps reporting. We help you back into Enphase Enlighten, mySolarEdge, the Tesla app or whatever your system uses, under your own account, so you can see it producing again.

If the system is leased or on a PPA

With a lease or power purchase agreement, the finance company usually owns the system and is responsible for servicing it, even if the installer is gone. We will tell you what to ask them for, and where they authorize outside service, or the system turns out to be yours, we can do the work.

Questions about orphaned systems

My solar company went out of business. Who services my system now?

We do. We service systems installed by other companies along with our own fleet, including systems whose installer no longer exists. It starts with a $475 diagnostic visit, which includes an hour of labor.

Is my warranty still good if my installer is gone?

Usually the manufacturer warranties on panels, inverters and batteries still stand, because they come from the manufacturer. The installer’s own workmanship and roof warranties usually end with the company. Every system is different, so we check yours.

Can I get back into my monitoring app?

Usually, yes. The system itself normally keeps reporting; the account may have been set up under the installer. We help you get access under your own account.

My system is leased or on a PPA. Can you still help?

The lease or PPA company is usually responsible for service on a system it owns, so we will tell you what to ask them for. Where they authorize outside service, or where the system is yours, we can do the work.

How fast can you come out?

We respond within 24 hours to schedule your visit, in every state we serve.

What will it cost to find out what my system still has?

The diagnostic visit is $475: onsite troubleshooting and diagnostics, including one hour of labor. We can provide our findings and a price before any further work starts.
